Hey. I tabbed the chords for this a little while ago (they're up here as well if you prefer that) but was recently messing around with an Open D tuning and and realised that what I had done wasn't as accurate as I thought it was. ------------------------------- Kiss the Grass - The Paper Kites ------------------------------- Tuning: Open D (DADF#Ad) Tab relative to the capo Palm-muting, the entire thing. These chords are essentially blocks on the three lower strings. In the song, the playing is rather approximate, so instead of pressing each note with a separate finger, I would recommend barring using the top wedge of one finger (except for the first chord in the Chorus). After all, this tuning is great, so it doesn't sound too terrible if you accidentally hit a few unnecessary strings. Verse: Repeat these chords, each of which with a downstroke, and on your way up lightly hit some of the higher strings (in particular the F# and A). d|---------------------| A|---------------------| F#|---------------------| D|--0-0-0-0-5-5-5-5----| A|--0-0-0-0-5-5-5-5----| D|--0-0-0-0-5-5-5-5----| Chorus (slow down, let it all slow): d|----------------------------| A|----------------------------| F#|-3-3-3-3--------------------| D|-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-0-0-0-0----| A|-3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-0-0-0-0----| D|---------5-5-5-5-0-0-0-0----| Repeat Verse Repeat Chorus Instrumental/Bridge: Following the last line of the Chorus (slow down, let it all...), play these chords all through the Instrumental and the bridge (and our bones are growing stronger). d|----------------------------| A|----------------------------| F#|----------------------------| D|-5-5-5-5-2-2-2-2-0-0-0-0----| A|-5-5-5-5-2-2-2-2-0-0-0-0----| D|-5-5-5-5-2-2-2-2-0-0-0-0----| Repeat Verse Repeat Chorus End on the word "let" in the line, "slow down, let it all..." with this chord: d|---| A|---| F#|---| D|-5-| A|-5-| D|-5-| This really is a freaking great song, saw it live once upon a time and it rocked even harder. Enjoy playing, Sinatra Blue
