A mylar ballon in the shape of a sailor

And a bereavement card for a

second cousin once removed

Time is ticking and it?s getting kind of short

I?m not sure I?m being such a good sport

This little trip has cost me

my whole dang Saturday

Just when I think that I am going to quit

I see up the road just a little bit

That beautiful, familiar sign

that we all know

30 feet in the air sits a beautiful glow

Big black letters on a bed of yellow

Tells me exactly that I found

what I?m looking for

They got everything that you could need

From birthday candles to papaya seeds

So I make my way down the aisles

Searching high and low

I find everything that I?m looking for

I pay my tab, as I head out the door

And a big wave of relief

washes over me

One sure thing I was proud to see

Was there was four Dollar generals and one dollar tree

All in the space of about 6 miles or so

Now I know that my Christmas list is done

but somehow I just can?t resist the fun

Of searching for that one thing that?s really unique

I climb back in my truck and head down the road

Looking once more for the beautiful glow

Of the big yellow sign of the dollar general
