(CAPO 2)
                             E
1. We really shouldn't be a doin' this
                     A
   And we both know why
                               E
Just being close enough to think like this
                               A
Enough to make you need to lie

                                A (A7)
2. This kinda talk will lead us to somewhere
                                   D B7
We're gettin' way too close to going there
                              E
The farther off the better to resist
                             A
We really shouldn't be a doin' this

                    E
3. Only an isolated incident
                                 A
But the acquaintance left me stunned
                                E
The first attration was the hardest hit
                           A
   I thought I'd ever overcome

                        A (A7)
4. This kinda situation has to pass
                                D B7
This chance encounter has to be the last
                               E
To take it further we would be remiss
                             A
We really shouldn't be a doin' this

Inst : Same as 1. 2.

                             A (A7)
5. We'd each be hurting somebody else
                             D B7
If we don't say our good-byes real fast
                             E
Won't even think about a farewell kiss
                             A
We really shouldn't be a doin' this

 Well...

Repeat : 1. 2. 4.
                             E
   Won't even think about a Good-bye kiss
                           A
We really shouldn't be doin' this
