Plans

Intro:
A D (x2)

A D
The pond is fed by July melted snow
A D E
That we watched fall from January windows in our homeroom class
                                     D
Teacher wondering how the hell they wound up here
A D
So far from the plans they drew up years ago

A D
When I stole away on that three-lane headed south
A D E
I didn't know the cards were stacked, I just knew I was wild about the desert wind
                    D A
Whispering sweet nothings about gearing up and chasing down
                          D
A plan I drew up years ago
A D
That I drew up years ago

D A E A
So hold me in your arms, I think I'm going under
D A E
Take your time with my heart, it's been rattled by the thunder
A Bm C#m D
Of the all-you-got engine always bound for the big show
E A
Drowning out the plans I drew up years ago

A D
Gonna drive tonight, gonna roll the windows down
A
Let the wind wash over me
D E
Let the whole thing go, let it all play out like a melody
                            D
Lord, it feels like a memory
      A D
Reminding me of the innocence of the plans I drew up years ago
A D
That I drew up years ago

D A E A

A Bm C#m D
