Purify

Guitar tabs for Purify by Placebo
from their new album 'Loud Like Love'.
I worked this out partly by ear and from
watching live footage of the band playing,
so it may not be 100% accurate (especially for the Chorus)

Tuning:EADGBE
Also when I play it, I use an octaver set to an octave higher

Intro:

 harmonics

E|-------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------5-5-5---------------------------|
D|------------5-5-5-----------5-5-5----------------|
A|-5-5-5-------------------------------------------------|5-5-5-5
E|-------------------------------------------------------------|

x4

verse 1:
same as intro x8

Chorus: (not 100% certain on it, so please correct me if I'm wrong)

E|-------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------|
G|---------7------7-7-7-10-10-10-13-13-13----|
D|--8------7---------------------------------| x2
A|--8-x16--5-x16--5-5-5-8--8--8--11-11-11----|
E|--6----------------------------------------|

Only play octave notes after the second repeat

I think Brian just plays the bass notes on those power chords, but I'm not certain on it.

2nd Verse:
Same as 1st x8

2nd Chorus
Same as 1st x4

Solo:

When I play it, I use no distortion, Compression, a bit of delay and a octaver set
to an octave higher

E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-15-15-15-14-14-14-10-10-10-12-12-12-10-10-9-9-5-5-5-7-7-7------------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------------3-3-3-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5--------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

whole thing x2

end solo on

D|-----------------|
A|---10br11-10br11-|
E|-----------------|

Break for i think about 14 bars(bass, drums and vocals)

Come in on 15th bar with:

E|----------------|
B|----------------|
G|------7---------|
D|------x---------| x 16
A|------5---------|
E|----------------|

Repeat Chorus x4
Repeat solo x2

End on:

G|-----------------|
D|-----------------|
A|---10br11-10br11-|

or

G|--12br13-12br13--|
D|-----------------|
A|-----------------|
(which ever sounds better)
