The 'Kit Rudiments' series of tabs contains some alternative things 
to do on the Drum Kit with those bog standard rudiments most drum 
teachers force u to do over and over again for no apparent reason.

KEY:

Cymbals: (X=hard hit/accent), (x=normal), (B=bell accent), (b=normal bell)
CC: crash
RC: ride
HH: hihat- (o=hit open)

Drums: (O=accent), (o=normal), (d=drag), (f=flam), (b=roll), (B=accented roll), (@=rimshot), (g=ghost note)
tt: mounted tom
SD: snare drum
Ft: floor tom
BD: base drum

HF: hihat foot- (o=open/lift), (x=close/drop) 



(1)THE PARADIDDLE (RLRRLRLLRLRRLRLL):

AN EXTREMELY BORING RUDIMENT!!!!
(at least until you learn how to use it properly)

try this beat:
   |1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + |
HH |x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|
SD |-x--x-xx-x--x-xx|
BD |x-xx-x--x-xx-x--|

instead of the paradiddle alternating between the right and left hands 
it alternates between the right foot and left hand.

Mess around with this concept 4 a while and you can come up with some
pretty interesting combinations.

for example:
   |1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + |
HH |x-xx-x--x-x-x-o-|
SD |-x--x-xx-x--x-x-|
BD |x-xx-x--x-xx-x-x|
HF |x-------------o-|

or:
   |1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + |

HF |------------ox--|

there are hundreds of beats you could make up with this rudiment these are just
some of the ones i remember.


this concept also works beautifully for fills:
   |1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + |

Bare in mind that using only paradiddles in a fill sounds very amateurish,
rather have only 1 or 2 paradiddles mixed in with a fill:

Thats it for paradiddles.
All you need to do now is practice and experiment.
