C G6add9
I know that its been quite some time
D
I've been dragging days down that same old line
C G6add9 D G6add9 D
And I dont know quite where I passed that sign with you
C G6add9
We wore out our wheels on the roads
D
Crossed the country with the heavy loads
C G6add9 D G6add9 D
But somewhere I slipped off the map I wrote with you

            C G6add9
Do you still dream where the red dust lies?
           D
Out where the wind cuts through the skies
       C G6add9
I ask the moon to tell me the truth
           D
But she just fades like a photo of you

C G6add9
I Passed that Flying J near exit 8
           D
Where you bought me cinnamon rolls on a paper plate
 C G6add9
I Didnt stop, just let the silence wait
D
   As i rolled on through

            C G6add9
Do you still dream where the red dust lies?
           D
Out where the wind cuts through the skies
       C G6add9
I ask the moon to tell me the truth
           D
But she just fades like a photo of you

            C G6add9
Do you still dream where the red dust lies?
           D
Out where the wind cuts through the skies
  C G6add9
I talk to the moon as though she knows what's true
             D
But she just fades like a photo of you
