01 - Why can't I see the figure or the drawings of
the chords?
The reason for this can be one of the following:
A) Your browser is not Internet Explorer - go to http://www.microsoft.com/ie
and download the latest version of Internet Explorer
B) Your browser is not enabled for JavaScript - The following
describes how to enable JavaScript goes versions 6 and 5 of
Internet Explorer browser. For other browsers, please refer
to the documentation provided by the software developer.
- Select the "Internet Options..." menu item in the
"Tools" menu.
- Click on the "Security" tab at the top of the Internet
Options window that pops up.

Settings
window.
- Click on the "OK" button at the bottom of the Internet
Options window.
02 - Why do I only see the figure but not the drawings
of the chords?
See FAQ number 1. The reason may be the same.
03 – Why didn’t I find a particular song
from a specific artist on the site?
Because it hasn’t been added to the site yet. We are adding
new songs to the site everyday and it is possible that the song
that you want is already will be added soon. If you don’t
find a song, you can add it to the site clicking on Submit Song.
If you don't know where to find this tab on the Internet, please
get in touch with us and we will search for it.
04 - When I click on the print icon I go to the print
dialog window, but nothing happens. Why?
Printing doesn't begin automatically. This was done in case
you to want to change the variations of the chords to accommodate
your way of playing the music. To print the chord, please click
File – Print from the browser's menu.
05 - How do I export a chord to notepad or to a Word
file?
This feature is only available for premium members. Just copy
the entire tab and paste it into your word file.
06 - How do I acquire your chords dictionary?
We will make it available for download very soon.
07 - Why do songs sometimes have a chord missing in
them?
Because the chord maybe not exist in our database. We are constantly
adding chords to our site and it maybe very possible that this
chord will be on the site soon.
08 - Why didn’t I find a particular chord in
the chords dictionary?
Because the chords dictionary and song chords use the same database,
i.e., if it’s missing in a song it will not appear in
the dictionary. However, it may be that a chord is registered
in a slightly different way. For instance, if you search for
the chord C5 /7, it may not be found in the dictionary, but
it can be found as C7/5 (don’t worry, for this example
both chord forms appear in the dictionary) .
09 - Why doesn’t anything happen when I click
on a chord?
The version of Internet Explorer you are using may be the problem.
You must use Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher for the site to
work correctly.
10 - The tab XXXX is classified in the wrong category.
Please change it!
Ok. We’ll do it as soon as you tell us where to put it.
11 - Why do some artists appear in more then one category?
Because each artist can have up 2 categories. You will, without
a doubt, find examples of singers whose songs are of different
styles, e.g., rock, country
12 - What happens if I click on the link "variation"
under a guitar or keyboard chord?
You will see a variation of that chord. Any of the variations
will produce the same sound (the variation won’t change
the song’s harmony. Variations sometimes make it easier
to play a particular song by eliminating drastic changes in
position etc.
13 - Why do some chords have variations and others don't?
Some chords may not have variations or the variations aren’t
in our database. Please feel free to send us any chord that’s
not in our database.
14– How do I learn a song’s rhythm?
The best way to learn a song’s rhythm is to listen to
it, paying particular attention to the rhythm. Some tabs on
the site have an MP3 file with its rhythm and a small explanation
on how to play it. In these cases, you'll only have to click,
read and listen.
15 - Can I send you a chord by e-mail?
Yes, it's possible, but it will be much faster and easier if
you do it from the site. Simply click on "send chord by
e-mail" and input your own e-mail in the sender and receiver
boxes.
16 - Why doesn’t a chord I've sent appear on the
site within 48 hours of sending it?
Probably because it already exists in the site. You might have
forgotten to check the database before sending it.. There two
other possible reasons: the artist is completely unknown to
the public and our policy obliges us not to insert it, or because
we missed the deadline to check it within 48 hours.
17 - I've added a tab but my information doesn't appear
on it. What happened?
The chord you've tried to add already exists in the site.
18 - I'm sure of it! The tab I sent didn't exist on
the site. Why isn’t my information there?
There are two explanations: someone sent the same tab just few
seconds before you did, or at the moment you checked if the
tab existed, you misspelled the Artist or Title.
19 - Why can’t I add more then 100 songs in my
favorites?
100 songs is a fair limit to each site user. We believe that
it’s more than enough for any presentation. For those
who want to have more that 100 songs, we suggest you print them
and make a songbook.
20 - Why do some songs appear more than once in my favorites?
If you take a closer look, you’ll see that the song may
have the same title but they are not in the same key, i.e.,
they are different versions of the same song.
21 - Why does some songs have a table of tone- and partial
tone-changes and others don’t?
Because at the moment it was inserted the song tone was not
added. When this happens, E-Chords has no way of identifying
the song’s key to display all 12 partial keys existing
for the song. You will still be able to click on the Next Key
and Previous Key links.
22– Why didn’t you answer my e-mail?
We sincerely try to answer all e-mails, but sometimes our staff
can’t keep up. Even if we don’t respond to your
e-mail, we read all suggestions and incorporate them into the
site as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that we receive
hundreds of e-mails everyday but have only a few employees to
respond to them.
23– Why wasn’t the material I sent published
on the site?
All material sent must be related to music so they
can be published. If you send us material about the Superbowl,
we’re not going to publish it. However, if your material
was, indeed, related to music, it probably was not approved
by our editor for publishing or there was other material very
similar to yours.
24– How do I find a chord’s names?
Go to the chord dictionary and click the appropriate
finger positions on the graphic of the guitar neck. If the chord
is in our database, its name will appear when you click Search.
25– Why does the Midi file on a certain tab play
a different song?
Because we made a mistake! After all, we are humans!
Please, let us know if you find a mismatched Midi.
26– Why are there only tabs for guitar, keyboard,
bajo and viola?
We wish we could have tabs for other instruments, but many times
it’s very difficult or impossible to convert guitar or
keyboard tabs to other instruments such as saxophone, flute
and harp. We intend to in the short future to include some chords
for other instruments. Please stand by!
27– Why it doesn’t anything happen when
I click on the icon beside the chord to listen to it?
It could be one of the following reasons:
1) Your computer does not have an application to play the sound.
There are plenty of programs on the Internet, pick one.
2) Your computer does not have a speaker.
3) Your computer speakers are turned off.
4) Your speakers are muted or their volume is at the minimum.
5) The Midi reproduction volume is muted or at its minimum.
6) The connection may have a problem. Please, try again later.
28– A certain tab is wrong or misplaced!
Please, whenever this happens, inform us. We will promptly
correct it.
29– How do I access my account area? (How do I
change my personal information?)

side of the site pages. The link "Members Area" will
be displayed. Clicking on this link will take you to your personal
information page, so you will be able to change it.
